Pic de la Gardiette

Pic de la Gardiette is a mountain summit in Provence rising to 266 meters with rocky limestone slopes and scrubland vegetation typical of the Mediterranean region. The landforms create ridges and varied terrain that shift in appearance throughout the seasons.

This summit formed during the Alpine mountain-building period millions of years ago, becoming part of the geological structure of southeastern France. The rock layers and formations preserve evidence of this ancient geological process.

Local shepherds have utilized the paths around Pic de la Gardiette for centuries, maintaining traditional grazing practices in the Provence region.

Marked trails allow hikers to reach the summit from various starting points in the surrounding area. Spring and autumn provide the most comfortable weather for completing the ascent.

On clear days, visitors can see both the Mediterranean Sea and the distant Alpine peaks from the same viewpoint. This dual view makes the summit a valuable spot for observing the broader regional landscape.
