Tsaishi cathedral

Tsaishi Cathedral is an Orthodox religious structure in Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti featuring a central dome and intricate stone carvings across its exterior. The interior contains layered religious artwork and frescoes that reflect different periods of church tradition and artistic development.

Construction occurred across two centuries starting in the 6th century, establishing it as a major religious center. An earthquake in 1614 prompted reconstruction under Bishop Malachi, after which the site evolved into a monastery complex with educational functions.
