The Batumi Mosque stands as a central religious structure in the city center, featuring traditional Islamic architectural elements and painted interior walls.
The Khimshiashvili family, led by Muslim Georgian nobleman Aslan Beg, commissioned the construction of this religious building in 1886.
The Laz brothers applied their artistic skills to paint the interior walls, incorporating regional artistic elements into the mosque's Islamic design.
The mosque remains open for daily prayers and welcomes visitors to observe its architectural features outside of prayer times.
Located between two former mosques that no longer exist, this religious building earned the name Orta Jame, meaning the middle mosque.
