Thessaloniki Science Center and Technology Museum

Noesis is a large science museum in a modern building that spreads across several levels and offers visitors different exhibition areas. Inside are exhibits on technology history like vintage cars and old cameras alongside interactive displays that teach scientific ideas.

The building started in 1978 as a technical museum under a different name and later moved to the current site. This relocation in the early 2000s allowed it to shift into a larger and better-designed space.

The museum displays how ancient Greeks created machines and structures that still impress today. Visitors can see what technical solutions were invented then and how they changed daily life.

The museum sits outside the city on a main road and is reachable by different modes of transport. If you plan to walk there, check the route beforehand as the area is not very pedestrian-friendly.

The building itself is shaped like Archimedes' lever and wedge, with the round planetarium dome appearing as if lifted by an invisible lever. This architectural form is a rare creative take on a historical concept.
