Međimurje County, Administrative region in northern Croatia
Međimurje County forms a triangular territory of 729 square kilometers between the Mura and Drava rivers, with Čakovec as its administrative center.
The region changed hands between noble families including the Lacković, Zrinski, and Feštetić before joining the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes in 1918.
The county maintains traditional festivals throughout the year, where local residents present regional dances, music performances, and handmade craft exhibitions.
The A4 motorway connects the county to major Croatian cities, while railway lines provide transportation links to Hungary and Slovenia.
The territory contains both Upper Međimurje with its wine-producing hills and Lower Međimurje with extensive agricultural fields growing cereals and vegetables.
