Bundek, Park and recreational lake in Novi Zagreb, Croatia.
Bundek is a recreational park with two connected lakes, walking paths, and large green spaces that extend around a mile and a half along the Sava River. The grounds include ten barbecue stations with benches, three children's playgrounds, two volleyball courts, and a cycling track that measures roughly 1650 meters.
The area began as gravel pits created during construction of Zagreb Fair and the Freedom Bridge around the mid-1900s. Over time, these excavations filled with water and became the lakes that now define this recreation zone.
The Floraart International Garden Exhibition happens every year here, bringing garden products and design ideas from many countries to the site. You can observe how different cultures approach gardening and see plants that thrive in various climates.
The site is easy to reach and offers many ways to spend time in one place. The wide paths work well for walking, jogging, or cycling, while the open areas invite you to play sports or simply relax.
One section features a specialized playground with adapted equipment and protective surfaces for children with physical disabilities. This design reflects an inclusive approach that gives all visitors equal chances to play and move around.
