Sinjsko Polje, Karst field in Split-Dalmatia County, Croatia
The flat landscape of Sinjsko Polje extends across 64 square kilometers of fertile land, with the Cetina River flowing through its center at 295 meters elevation.
During winter periods throughout history, Sinjsko Polje experienced regular flooding, which created natural grazing grounds for cattle after the waters receded in spring.
The field connects numerous settlements along both sides of the Cetina River, including Gala, Otok, Turjaci, and Brnaze, forming a network of agricultural communities.
Modern agricultural activities in Sinjsko Polje focus on corn and wheat cultivation, supported by several bridges crossing the Cetina River for easy access.
