Zelovo, Sinj

Zelovo is a settlement on the southern slopes of Svilaja mountain positioned at roughly 885 meters elevation near Sinj. The village spreads across hillside terrain with traditional stone houses set against a backdrop of forested ridges.

During the early 1700s, families including Delaš, Domazet, and Jukić started workshops making clay pipes. This craft tradition took root and became part of the settlement's identity for centuries to come.

Saint Vitus Church serves as the center where residents gather each year on June 15 to honor their patron saint. This yearly celebration shows how the community keeps its traditions alive through shared worship and local customs.

The settlement sits within postal code 21233 with Hrvace serving as the local postal center. It is easily explored on foot and offers direct access to hiking routes in the surrounding highlands.

This is the only place in Croatia where artisans still make traditional clay pipes using traditional methods. Alongside this specialty, craftspeople here also produce wooden toys, furniture, and wind instruments such as flutes.
