Museum of Serbs of Croatia

The Museum of Serbs of Croatia contains collections of artifacts, photographs, and documents highlighting Serbian communities within Croatian territories.

Founded in 1946 during post-World War II reconstruction, the institution initially belonged to the Museum of Arts and Crafts before joining the Croatian History Museum in 1948.

The museum collection spans five exhibition halls presenting Serbian settlements, migrations, artistic expressions, and social developments throughout different historical periods.

While the original museum closed in 1963, portions of its collection remain accessible through the Museum of Metropolitanate of Zagreb and Ljubljana and the Prosvjeta organization.

Museum professionals preserved numerous Serbian Orthodox Church artifacts during World War II, forming the foundation for this specialized cultural repository.
