Fisherman's Bastion, Neo-Gothic monument in Castle District, Budapest, Hungary.

The Fisherman's Bastion features seven white limestone towers connected by stairs and walkways overlooking the Danube River and Hungarian Parliament Building.

Built between 1895 and 1902 by architect Frigyes Schulek, the structure commemorates the seven Magyar tribes that settled in the Carpathian Basin in 895.

The medieval walls were once guarded by a guild of fishermen, leading to the current name and establishing a connection with Budapest's maritime heritage.

Lower terraces offer free access year-round, while the upper viewing platforms require an entrance fee from 9:00 AM until evening hours.

Under the ramparts lies the restored St. Michael Chapel, featuring an underground exhibition space with historical displays about medieval Budapest.
