Labyrinth of Buda Castle, Cave system and tunnel network under Castle Hill, Budapest, Hungary

The underground passages stretch for 3300 meters beneath Budapest's Castle Hill, featuring interconnected chambers, corridors, and ancient cellars from different construction periods.

The network served multiple functions throughout centuries, including a prison where Vlad Tepes remained captive for 14 years starting in 1463 before becoming a World War II shelter.

The labyrinth contains exhibitions displaying Hungarian royal busts, statues of nobility, and traditional stage costumes within its medieval stone walls.

Visitors navigate the tunnels independently without maps or guides, requiring appropriate footwear for wet surfaces and cash payment for the entrance fee.

The Maze of Darkness section requires visitors to hold a green garden hose while walking through complete darkness for five minutes.
