The Church of the Assumption stands as a brick structure featuring Baroque architecture with a bell tower added in 1777 to the main building.
Following the Serbian migration of 1690, the construction of this Eastern Orthodox cathedral began in 1756 and reached completion in 1763.
The interior contains a Rococo-style iconostasis created by Vasilije Ostojić in 1781, representing Serbian Orthodox religious traditions in Hungary.
Located at coordinates 47.6689° N and 19.0758° E, the cathedral operates under the jurisdiction of the Eparchy of Buda.
Bishop Sofroniusz Kirilovic initiated the addition of the bell tower, while Bishop Dionigi Budzinski consecrated the church on January 28, 1764.
