The Szamos Marzipan Museum presents an extensive collection of confectionery sculptures crafted entirely from almond paste. The displays feature detailed recreations of famous buildings, historical figures, and everyday scenes rendered in this distinctive sweet medium.

The museum was founded in 1994 by the Hungarian confectioner Sámuel Károlyi, known as Samu Károly. It occupies a two-storey house on a small street in Szentendre and traces the local marzipan tradition, which grew from the almond production of the Budapest region. Across the street stands the house of Serbian novelist Jakov Ignjatović, marked by a memorial plaque.

The collection reflects how marzipan crafting became a way to recreate important moments and buildings in edible form. Visitors can observe how this sweet medium connects to Hungarian pride in detailed handiwork and artistic expression.

The museum, confectionery and shop share one building at Dumtsa Jenő utca 12 in Szentendre. Exhibits are labelled with the weight of marzipan used, and most of the production machines on display still run on site, so allow time to watch the confectioners at work.
