Suba Hole, Prehistoric cave in Cserépfalu, Hungary.

The limestone cave extends 50 meters into the rock formation with a 7-meter-wide entrance opening toward the panoramic Hór Valley.

Archaeologists discovered the first Neanderthal remains in Hungary at this location, dating back to a period between 71,000 and 61,000 years ago.

From 1932 to 1945, locals referred to this geological formation as Mussolini Cave, possibly named after a resident called Mihály Suba.

The cave entrance requires climbing a steep staircase with handrails, and visitors can learn more at the nearby Suba-hole Museum and Visitor Centre.

At the rear section of the cave, visitors can observe the entire expanse of Hór Valley, offering insights into the strategic position chosen by early humans.
