Szent György-hill

Szent György-hill is a volcanic mountain in Balaton Uplands National Park that rises to about 415 meters and displays distinctive basalt columns across its slopes. These natural formations shape the landscape and create the geological character visitors see when exploring the area.

The mountain takes its name from Saint George, a medieval Christian figure whose legend became important throughout Europe and beyond. This naming reflects how religious traditions shaped the identity of places in the region over centuries.
