Tábor-hegyi Cave, Natural cave in Tábor Hill, Budapest, Hungary.
The entrance of this geological formation features a large opening in steep dolomite cliffs, extending 162 meters into the mountain with multiple passages.
The cave formation occurred through tectonic movements and erosion processes, with thermal springs contributing to its development over geological periods.
This natural site represents part of Budapest's network of caves, making it the only capital city with natural cave systems within its urban boundaries.
The cave entrance requires a 15-minute uphill walk from the nearest bus stop at Viharhegyi Road, accessible via bus line 137 from Kolosy Square.
A terrace constructed in 1930 near the cave entrance provides views of the Danube, Megyeri Bridge, and the 203-meter Óbuda heating plant chimney.
