Segítő Szűz Mária templom

The Segítő Szűz Mária templom is a baroque parish church in Bodajk featuring white exterior walls and twin bell towers that dominate the town. The structure displays typical 18th-century design with arched windows and a symmetrical facade characteristic of the period.

Construction of this church occurred between 1727 and 1742, representing the baroque and romantic architectural styles of that era. Capuchin fathers assumed pastoral care from 1749 until 1788, marking an important period in the church's development.

The church has served as the community's center for marriages and baptisms since the 1730s, with records documenting generations of local families. It continues to hold this role today, connecting residents across centuries through shared life milestones.

The building earned minor basilica status in 2023, a distinction that marks it among relatively few churches in smaller towns. Monthly Fatima devotions held on the 13th bring together faithful from the surrounding area for special prayer gatherings.
