Avtalion

Avtalion is a community settlement in the Misgav Regional Council situated on a hillside at approximately 283 meters elevation. The terrain provides views across the northern Galilee landscape and the agricultural lands that surround the site.

The settlement was founded in 1987 as a moshav shitufi, an agricultural cooperative model. Over time it evolved into a modern residential community within the Misgav Regional Council framework.

The settlement takes its name from an honored Jewish sage of the pre-Mishnaic era, linking the current community to ancient religious traditions. This choice of name reflects how residents connect their daily lives to this broader heritage.

The settlement connects to major Galilee cities through direct road access and offers local agricultural activities for those interested in rural life. Visitors should know this is a private residential area, so it is best to arrange visits in advance.
