Sharona, Moshav in Lower Galilee, Israel
The residential settlement of Sharona extends across elevated terrain at 260 meters, offering views of the surrounding Lower Galilee agricultural lands.
The Jewish Colonization Association established Sharona in 1938 with members of the Gordonia organization and support from the Agricultural Workers Federation.
Residents of Sharona maintain traditional moshav practices, combining individual family farming with cooperative agricultural management systems.
The settlement operates under the jurisdiction of the Lower Galilee Regional Council and maintains a population of 568 residents as of 2022.
Before its current incarnation, the location served as a strategic pass near Tiberias during the 13th century, known then as Sârûniyyah.
