Kiryat Tiv'on

Kiryat Tiv'on is a local council in the Haifa Subdistrict situated across hills between the Zvulun and Jezreel valleys. Located about 15 kilometers southeast of Haifa along the main route to Nazareth, it serves roughly 19,000 residents and includes educational institutions.

The town was established in 1937 through the merger of four earlier settlements: Tiv'on, Elro'i, Kiryat Haroshet, and Kiryat Amal into one unified municipality. This consolidation created a single administrative structure for communities already living in the area.

Oranim Academic College stands out as a major educational facility focused on music and arts education. The institution draws students from across the region and shapes the cultural character of the town.

The town is accessible via the main route to Nazareth, making it convenient for travelers heading toward the central region. Services and facilities for residents include municipal support systems and educational centers that also welcome visitors.

In recent years, a city council member was elected who serves as the nation's first transgender representative in Israeli municipal politics. This election marked a notable moment in the country's democratic representation.
