Jagdalpur

Jagdalpur sits at 552 meters elevation in southeastern Chhattisgarh, ringed by thick forests with the Indravati River nearby. It functions as the district administrative center and holds two colleges linked to a university in Raipur.

The city once served as capital of the Bastar princely state, founded in the 14th century as an independent region with its own governance. It became part of the newly formed Chhattisgarh state in 2000.
