Anand Bhavan

Anand Bhavan is a house museum in Prayagraj, India, set inside a former family residence. The rooms display letters, furniture pieces, and personal belongings from the early 20th century in their original setting.

The property was purchased in the 1930s and served as a meeting place during the independence movement. The family later donated the building to preserve it as a public museum.

The house takes its name from the Sanskrit word for joy and reflects the personal philosophy of its former residents. Visitors can walk through the living quarters and see how a politically active family lived in the early 20th century.

The museum is located near Allahabad-Faizabad Road and opens daily except Mondays from 9:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The rooms are connected by staircases, so visitors with limited mobility should plan accordingly.

A planetarium sits on the same grounds and complements the historical collection with astronomical displays. This combination makes the property a rare example of a museum with multiple thematic focuses.
