Saman Bird Sanctuary, Protected wetland sanctuary in Mainpuri district, India
Saman Bird Sanctuary covers about 526 hectares around a seasonal oxbow lake in the Ganges floodplain region of western Uttar Pradesh. The site consists of water bodies, wetland areas, and surrounding grasslands that provide habitat for a diverse bird population.
The sanctuary was established in 1990 to protect the Sarus Crane population in the region. In 2019, it received international recognition as a Ramsar site for its importance as a migratory bird habitat.
