Andheri, Entertainment district in Mumbai Suburban, India.
Andheri is a suburb in Mumbai Suburban district in India and stretches on both sides of the railway line running through the city. The area includes residential complexes, business districts, small markets and industrial zones connected by wide roads and smaller lanes.
The area developed from a coastal village into an urban center in the late twentieth century as Mumbai grew northward. The expansion of railway connections and the growing need for housing transformed the place into a busy suburb.
The area is home to numerous film and television studios that make it a key location for Indian media production. Especially in the western section, people work daily in different studios on Bollywood productions and other projects.
Multiple railway stations on the Western and Harbor lines connect the suburb to other parts of Mumbai through frequent train services. Auto rickshaws and buses run regularly through different neighborhoods, making it easier to move around within the area.
The area includes the fishing village of Versova, where traditional Koli communities continue to practice their age-old fishing methods. Every morning, boats return with fresh catches that are sold directly on the beach, while modern high-rise buildings stand nearby.
