Nizampatnam mandal

Nizampatnam mandal is an administrative region on the shore of the Bay of Bengal in Bapatla District, extending along the Krishna River banks. The area sits at about 7 meters elevation and includes eight villages with its administrative center in Nizampatnam town.

The area was originally known as Petapoly under Dutch rule and later called Pettipolee by the British. It took its current name from the Nizam of Hyderabad, who once held authority over this region.
