Jaisalmer War Museum

Jaisalmer War Museum is a military facility spanning several acres with two information halls, an audio-visual room, and displays of military hardware. The collection includes aircraft, tanks, guns, and vehicles from various conflicts, arranged chronologically and thematically throughout the grounds.

The museum was established in 2015 by the Indian Army to mark the Golden Jubilee of the 1965 war. It also displays artifacts and vehicles from the 1971 conflict and other military operations in the region.

The museum honors Indian soldiers through an exhibition wall engraved with names of gallantry award recipients. This tribute makes visible the sacrifices and dedication of military personnel and creates a place of remembrance for visitors.

The museum lies on the highway between Jaisalmer and Jodhpur and is open to visitors on most days. Budget time to explore the outdoor exhibition of military vehicles and equipment.

The collection features a Hunter jet used during the Battle of Longewala in 1971. This aircraft represents a rare example of equipment deployed in a specific historical engagement.
