Atal Setu Bridge, Cable-stayed bridge in Basholi, India

The Atal Setu Bridge stretches 592 meters across the Ravi River, connecting the districts of Kathua and Pathankot through steel cables and vertical pylons.

The construction of Atal Setu Bridge began after Sonia Gandhi laid the foundation stone in May 2011, with the Indian Institute of Technology providing design approval.

The bridge bears the name of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and stands as a symbol of progress in the culturally diverse region of Jammu and Kashmir.

The structure provides a direct route between Punjab and Jammu and Kashmir, reducing travel time and supporting the transportation of goods across northern India.

Atal Setu holds the distinction of being the fourth cable-stayed bridge in India and the first of its type in the northern region of the country.
