Teatro Verdi

Teatro Verdi is an opera house in Salerno with a classic Italian layout featuring four tiers of private boxes and a gallery above. The auditorium accommodates roughly 600 spectators in an intimate setting typical of 19th-century theater design.

Construction started in 1864 under architects Giuseppe Menichini and Antonio D'Amora and opened to the public in 1872. Its completion marked a period when Italian cities invested in grand opera houses as symbols of civic pride and cultural development.
