Convento di San Nicola della Palma, Medieval convent in Canalone district, Salerno, Italy.

The San Nicola della Palma convent extends across four floors with a total surface of 3,800 square meters, featuring ancient architectural elements throughout its structure.

Founded in 1061 by Abbot Leone of Cava and official Vivo, the convent received lands and residence near Porta della Palma from Prince Gisulfo II.

The monastery transformed into a Franciscan community in the early 15th century, establishing itself as the headquarters for the Provinciate Minoritica di Principato by 1575.

The building now houses EBRIS Foundation, a biomedical research center focusing on celiac disease treatments under Professor Alessio Fasano's direction.

The discovery of a medieval bath complex with three rooms, including two pools and a rock-carved sauna, reveals sophisticated architectural engineering of its time.
