During the post-liberation period of Italy, Palazzo Barone served as the headquarters for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, hosting diplomatic meetings with international representatives.

The palace, designed by engineers Mario Siniscalchi and Luigi Mellucci, represents the architectural preferences of wealthy entrepreneur Antonio Barone in the 1930s.
