Basilica of the Holy Cross in Jerusalem

The church contains three naves with an elliptical atrium, featuring a Baroque facade constructed with travertine stone and decorated with detailed architectural elements.

Saint Helena, mother of Emperor Constantine, established this basilica in 325 CE to preserve religious relics brought from Jerusalem to Rome.

The Cappella delle Reliquie preserves fragments believed to be from the True Cross, the Crown of Thorns, and a nail from the crucifixion.

Visitors can access the church daily through the main entrance, with extended morning hours during religious celebrations and reduced afternoon schedules.

The original floor incorporated soil transported from Jerusalem, leading to the basilica's designation as one of the Seven Pilgrim Churches of Rome.
