Les Dames Anglaises, Mountain peaks in Valle d'Aosta, Italy

Les Dames Anglaises comprises five vertical rock towers in the Mont Blanc massif, with the highest reaching approximately 3601 meters. Located between Aiguille Noire and Aiguille Blanche de Peuterey, these spires form a distinctive jagged formation along the Alpine ridge.

The first successful ascent took place in 1901 when the Duke of the Abruzzi reached the summits with guides Laurent Croux and Cyprien Savoye. This early achievement marked an important milestone in mountaineering history in the Mont Blanc region.

The five peaks carry names honoring notable mountaineers and alpine figures from the past. You can see how these names are connected to the place's role in climbing history as you look at the distinctive rock towers.

The Bivacco Piero Craveri shelter on the northern col offers basic protection for mountaineers tackling these technical peaks. Proper preparation and mountaineering equipment are essential, as conditions at this elevation can change rapidly and unexpectedly.

The five summits create a distinctive vertical rock formation that stands out sharply from surrounding gentler slopes. This dramatic tower-like character makes them visually recognizable along the western Alpine ridgeline.
