The museum occupies the second floor of a residential palazzo, displaying the preserved living quarters and personal library of writer Giovanni Verga.
Giovanni Verga resided in this house from his birth in 1840 until his death in 1922, where he wrote numerous influential works of Italian literature.
The museum maintains over 2,600 volumes of books, manuscripts, and personal artifacts that belonged to the pioneer of Italian literary naturalism.
Located near Catania Cathedral, the museum opens Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM, with additional afternoon hours on Tuesday and Thursday.
The death mask of Giovanni Verga remains on display alongside his personal belongings, creating a direct connection to the author's final moments.
