Royal Palace of Genoa, Baroque palace and history museum in Genoa, Italy
The Royal Palace of Genoa contains multiple grand staircases, decorated rooms, and a vast collection of art displayed across its historical chambers.
Originally constructed in 1655 for the Balbi family, the palace passed through Durazzo ownership before becoming a residence of the Savoy royal family in 1824.
The palace museum exhibits significant paintings from Van Dyck, Tintoretto, and Guercino, alongside period furnishings that represent Italian aristocratic lifestyles.
The museum received over 111,000 visitors in 2019 and provides wheelchair access throughout its main exhibition spaces and garden areas.
The Hall of Mirrors features extensive frescoes and gilded stucco decorations that demonstrate the technical skills of 17th-century Italian craftsmen.
