San Francesco all'Immacolata, Baroque church in central Catania, Italy

The limestone facade features sixteen semi-columns and three statues representing Saint Anthony of Padua, the Immaculate Conception, and Saint Francis of Assisi.

Queen Eleanor of Anjou founded the first church at this location in 1329, which was later rebuilt after the devastating 1693 Sicily earthquake.

The interior houses an 18th-century canvas depicting Queen Eleanor and St Clare, along with paintings by artists P. Liotta, G. Rapisardi, and G. Zacco.

The church stands in Piazza San Francesco, near Corso Vittorio Emanuele, with a grand staircase made from Etna lava stone leading to the entrance.

The northern turret functions as a bell tower containing three bronze bells and displays iron weathervanes indicating cardinal directions.
