The San Giacomo church features a single nave with five chapels on each side and a tall Gothic bell tower reaching 30 meters in height.
The church was first documented in 1346 and received a bell tower addition between 1442 and 1447, marking its early presence in medieval Cagliari.
The interior preserves a valuable terracotta Compianto from the 15th century and a Neapolitan organ crafted by Carlo Mancini in 1769.
The church stands at Piazza San Giacomo 3 in Cagliari's Villanova district, near several shopping streets frequently visited by tourists.
The structure combines Gothic-Catalan architecture with a Neoclassical facade designed by Gaetano Cima during 19th-century renovations.
