Church of San Pietro in Oliveto, Renaissance church on Cidneo hill, Brescia, Italy
The church features white and gray interior walls, a high dome above the presbytery, and a facade built with Botticino marble adorned with Ionic columns.
Founded in the 11th century for Benedictine monks, the church underwent reconstruction in 1487 when Regular Canons of San Giorgio in Alega acquired the property.
The church displays numerous artworks, including the main altarpiece by Moretto da Brescia depicting Saint Peter receiving the Keys to Heaven with Saint Paul.
The church welcomes visitors every weekday from 7:00 to 11:30 AM and 4:00 to 7:15 PM, with extended hours during Sundays and religious celebrations.
The name originates from olive groves that once covered Cidneo hill until their destruction during the siege of Brescia in 1433.
