Città della Domenica

Città della Domenica is an amusement and animal park spread across hilly terrain in Perugia, featuring rides, animal enclosures, and a small railway connecting different sections. The grounds include walking paths and designated feeding stations where visitors can interact with animals.

Mario Spagnoli founded Italy's first amusement park here in 1963 on Perugia's hills, combining entertainment with a focus on education and nature. This establishment marked a new approach to recreational destinations in the country.

The park reflects Italian folklore through themed areas such as Pinocchio's Village and the Farm of Old Trades, where visitors can observe traditional rural crafts and activities. These zones show how people lived and worked in the countryside generations ago.

You can explore the grounds on foot or take the small railway to move between different areas of the park. Rest spots and dining options are distributed along the pathways for visitor comfort.

The park is home to a small herd of endangered white Asinara donkeys, a rare breed found in few other places. Visitors have the chance to observe these animals as part of an ongoing preservation effort.
