The fortress received its name from a pre-existing chapel dedicated to the Saint of Siena, while officially honoring General Heinrich von Hess.
Located at Via del Pestrino in Verona, the fort maintains open access for visitors interested in exploring its military architecture.
During the 1970s, the fortress grounds transformed into a motocross track, leading to structural modifications still visible today.
