Eremo di Santa Maria a Cetrella

The Eremo di Santa Maria a Cetrella features two naves, with one dedicated to the Virgin Mary and another containing a 16th-century painting of San Domenico.

Built around 1400, this religious complex includes a church, bell tower, kitchen, and living quarters where Franciscan and Dominican monks resided throughout centuries.

The church maintains its role as a spiritual center, conducting religious services during specific periods, particularly in May and October.

Visitors can reach the hermitage via hiking trails from Anacapri or take the chair lift to Monte Solaro and walk down to the church location.

The protective wall surrounding the hermitage incorporates glass fragments at its top, creating an unusual defensive barrier around this religious structure.
