Aiguille de la Grande Traversière, Mountain peak in Aosta Valley, Italy

The Aiguille de la Grande Traversière rises to 3496 meters within the Graian Alps, displaying a pyramid shape topped with snow on its northern wall.

William Auguste Coolidge and Christian Almer completed the first recorded mountaineering expedition to the summit on August 24, 1885, marking a milestone in Alpine exploration.

The mountain stands as a representation of Italian Alpine heritage, connecting the Val de Rhêmes and Valgrisenche regions through its commanding presence.

Climbers can access the summit via routes from either the Mario Bezzi refuge or the Jean-Frédéric Benevolo refuge, requiring proper mountaineering equipment and experience.

The north face features distinct geological formations of Cyrene limescists and schists, creating specific climbing conditions that differentiate it from surrounding peaks.
