Monte Pramaggiore, Mountain summit in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Italy.

Monte Pramaggiore is a summit in the Dolomites region of northeastern Italy reaching approximately 2478 meters in elevation. The mountain displays steep slopes and deep valleys carved into limestone rock throughout its structure.

The peak was first climbed during the 1820s by European mountaineers, after which it gained recognition as a destination for alpine pursuits. This period marked the beginning of organized mountain exploration in the region.

This peak belongs to the Friuli-Dolomites protected area, where the landscape shows how nature adapts to high altitude conditions. The setting reflects the role mountains play in local identity and outdoor traditions.

The climb to the summit starts from Val di Suola, accessible from Forni di Sopra village, and passes a mountain hut at roughly 1600 meters elevation along the way. Reaching the top requires solid fitness and proper mountaineering gear.

The peak sits at a boundary where geology shifts between typical Dolomite formations to the west and isolated limestone peaks to the east. This geological transition creates a distinctive character that sets it apart from neighboring summits.
