The neo-Gothic castle museum displays archaeological and ethnographic materials collected from five continents, including African weaponry and Mesoamerican artifacts.
Captain Enrico Alberto D'Albertis constructed this castle between 1886 and 1892 and donated it to Genoa upon his death in 1932.
The museum exhibits Ethiopian manuscripts, volumes on Ceylon paper, and collections from native peoples of Oceania and America with modern interpretations.
The museum opens Tuesday through Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00 during April to September, and from 10:00 to 17:00 during October to March.
The Turkish living room, Colombian room, Gothic room, and Nautical cabin contain over 1300 volumes dating from the 14th to 19th century.
