Carlo Cocchia designed this medical tower during the late twentieth century as part of an initiative to modernize healthcare facilities throughout the Naples metropolitan area.
The tower's architectural elements, including fluted pilasters, draw inspiration from the neighboring Charterhouse Church of San Martino, connecting modern healthcare with local heritage.
Two elevators service the 21-floor structure, which houses multiple medical departments and functions as an integral part of Naples' university hospital system.
The building incorporates principles of Italian Rationalism, reflecting Cocchia's philosophy of prioritizing functionality and natural light distribution throughout the medical spaces.
