Castello di Castroreale

Castello di Castroreale is a medieval fortress featuring a prominent cylindrical tower constructed with thick sandstone walls and connected by internal stone steps across two levels. The structure includes a chapel space and allows visitors to climb interior stairs to access the upper sections of the tower.

The fortress was founded in the 14th century under Frederick II of Aragon to strengthen the settlement and reward local loyalty to the crown. It served as a key defensive structure throughout medieval and early modern periods.
