Saint Nicholas Church in Randazzo

The church features dark lava stone walls, three naves divided by columns, and a polygonal apse with a medieval cornice in Norman-Swabian architecture.

The original 13th-century church underwent major renovations between 1591 and 1605, including the construction of new nave pillars and structural modifications.

The church holds valuable artworks including a 1523 marble sculpture of San Nicola by Antonello Gagini and a 16th-century painted wooden crucifix.

The church structure suffered extensive damage during the 1943 bombardments, leading to partial collapse and the loss of numerous historical artifacts.

A statue named Ranazzu Vechiu stands in front of the church, displaying symbols of three communities: an eagle for Latin, a lion for Greek, and a snake for Lombards.
