Jordan River Crossing, International border crossing in northern Jordan Valley.
The Jordan River Crossing is a large bridge connecting Irbid in Jordan with Beit She'an in Israel across the Jordan River. The facility includes separate border terminals on each side with control areas and waiting zones.
The crossing opened in November 1994 following peace agreements between Jordan and Israel. Two parallel bridges built in 1996 separate traffic flow between the two countries.
Christian pilgrims pass through this crossing throughout the year to reach religious sites on both sides of the river. The crossing serves as a meeting point for people of faith from different countries.
Plan extra time for security checks and customs procedures, as the facility processes many pedestrians and vehicles daily. Check your travel documents and entry requirements for both countries before arriving.
The two bridges allow traffic to flow in opposite directions simultaneously, reducing congestion and improving efficiency. This design solution is uncommon at other border crossings in the region.
