Royal Automobile Museum, Automobile museum in Al Hussein Public Parks, Amman, Jordan
The Royal Automobile Museum displays about 80 cars and motorcycles across several exhibition halls, documenting automotive development over different decades. The collection includes sedans, motorcycles, and various other vehicles from different origins and periods.
The museum was established in 2003 to preserve the personal vehicle collection of King Hussein, including cars that arrived in Amman from 1916 onwards. After King Abdullah II took over the collection, it became accessible to the public.
The vehicles on display belonged to members of the royal family across different generations, reflecting how the country modernized. Visitors can see how personal transportation choices changed over time alongside the nation's development.
The museum is located next to Al Hussein Public Parks and is easy to find when you are in that area. Allow yourself enough time to walk through the halls at a comfortable pace and examine the vehicles.
The collection includes a vehicle prop from the film The Martian, which was donated after filming took place in Jordan's Wadi Rum desert. This unusual exhibit connects film history with the local landscape.
