Yokkaichi, Industrial port city in Mie Prefecture, Japan

The city extends from Ise Bay on the Pacific Ocean to the eastern edges of the Suzuka Mountains, covering 206 square kilometers of land.

The name Yokkaichi originates from markets held on the fourth day of each month during the Kamakura period, marking its early importance as a trading center.

The Dai Yokkaichi Matsuri festival presents the O-Nyudo float, a mechanical puppet measuring over 10 meters in height that moves through the streets.

The Yokkaichi Port facilitates international trade with dedicated terminals for containers, automobiles, and raw materials, supporting the regional manufacturing industry.

The city manufactures Banko ware ceramics using techniques from the Edo period, incorporating multiple spouts and handles in brown clay teapots.
