Kishibe Station, Railway station in Suita, Japan
Kishibe Station is a railway station in Suita, Japan, elevated above ground level with two island platforms and a building structure on top. The facility has four tracks, with the inner two currently in operation serving the JR Kyoto Line that connects Osaka and Kyoto.
The Ministry of Transport established this station on April 11, 1947, as part of post-war reconstruction efforts for Japanese railway infrastructure. It was built during a period when the national rail network was being rebuilt and expanded to connect growing urban areas.
The station serves students and staff of Osaka Gakuin University, forming a daily gathering point in the Suita community. It connects the campus to the wider city and brings together people traveling from different parts of the region.
The station is elevated above street level, making access straightforward via stairs and elevators with clear navigation for visitors. Around 18,000 passengers use it daily, so it becomes crowded during morning and early evening peak times.
Near the station, JR Freight and JR West operate important railway maintenance facilities including a locomotive depot and factory. This industrial role makes the location more than just a passenger hub for travelers.
